Invetech addresses Zurich industry group on successful Contract Manufacturing in Asia Pacific

Colin Potter, Invetech's Director of Contract Manufacturing, recently addressed a Scientific Forum at Toolpoint for Life Sciences, in Zurich, Swizterland about the critical issues that need to be considered when selecting the right contract manufacturer.

As product manufacturers continually look to gain a competitive advantage, they are increasingly looking at manufacturing in low cost regions such as China and Singapore. These regions offer excellent quality manufacturing at reduced costs, however it also brings with it many unknowns and new issues that could see the strategy be either a highly successful venture, or a poorly executed plan, that does not deliver the intended benefits.

Drawing on actual case studies, Colin provided practical advice and insights on when, what and how to manufacture in the Asia Pacific region.

Toolpoint is a cluster initiative focused on Life Science Instrument Companies for the 'Greater Zurich Area' and supports the founding of new companies in the region. It combines competencies across member companies with mutual interests in order to increase their competitiveness by reducing costs, increasing efficiency and enabling inter-company projects. The member organisation aims to boot innovation by actively promoting technology transfer.
